Body-framing
The heart of the carbody manufacture is the manufacturing process known as body-framing: the joining and welding of roof and bodysides to the underbody. A process which establishes geometry and, as a consequence, substantially influences the quality of the complete carbody.

In order to guarantee a stable and reproducible process, ThyssenKrupp Drauz Nothelfer has developed a geometry box. This box consists of a closed tubular frame system for taking-up the required joining forces onto which the clamping frames of the components are docked.

In order to provide the flexibility in vehicle variants demanded by the automotive industry, the system is available in different versions, from the single system – mono-framing – up to an 8-way multiple tool – mega-framing. ThyssenKrupp Drauz Nothelfer holds several patents in the area of body-framing.
